Memory 1
(Chapter 70.5)
Things to Note:
- The chapter was originally from Jae-Ha's perspective. This will obviously be from Kija's perspective.
- All names have been redacted, but dragon titles are intact, so people can hear "Seiryuu" and Hakuryuu", etc.
Summary:
- The Dark Dragon and the Happy Hungry Bunch visit an Onsen. Everyone is excited to relax and bathe and hop right in, but Kija lingers farther away near the onsen door, clearly uneasy. The voices of the others are heard but faint.
- Jae-Ha seems to notice he is missing and goes in to harass him. He begins to strip his clothes because of course, he does until he notices a scar upon Kija's back. Kija mainly dismisses it and Jae-Ha leaves him alone.
- After escaping from Jae-Ha, Kija finds a place to sit but seems to become increasingly upset. Jae-Ha finds him once again and suggests that he go bathe now and he won't tell anyone about it. Kija refuses.
- The princess approaches and says she heard he wasn't feeling well. Kija questions this but Jae-Ha jumps in to agree that yes he isn't well.
- Yona shows concern for him which flusters Kija. He blushes lots and tells her he's fine. After she leaves he asks Jae-Ha if he smells like sweat and that he's embarrassed to be the only one not to have bathed. Ultimately he decides to go bathe at the well instead of in the outsprings.
- Bathing at the well is clearly cold. While there he eventually notices Hak and Jae-Ha nearby. It looks like they are having a duel and so he asks if he can spar with them.
- Jae-Ha acts strange and tries to drag him off and cover him up, but while he does something terrible happens. Kija screams and asks Jae-Ha for help....!! To kill the spider that's been haunting him all morning.
- Jae-Ha kills the spider and he's finally able to relax in the hot springs, even if Jae-Ha seems exhausted.
- Ultimately, Jae-Ha asks Kija about his scar, and Kija explains that the scar on his back was given to him by his father, who was actually the former Hakuryuu (White Dragon) his predecessor. Jae-Ha is surprised that Kija can talk about such an injury so cheerfully, but Kija explains that he has no reason to feel gloomy about it. The scar he has is the only time his father ever touched him. He wears it as a mark of the passion felt by wanting to serve their king. He accepts it and will live on.
- Jae-Ha apologizes to Kija, explaining that he once thought of him as a puppet but had underestimated him. Kija doesn't mind and says it's fine because he doesn't care what anyone else says. His resolve stays the same regardless.
- Zeno and Shin-Ah join them in the onsen, and Kija excitedly exclaims that with all four dragons gathered, they should all have a good time chatting as they ought too.
Commentary:
- He has a cute family
- The princess always makes his heart flutter
- Baths are great
- Bugs and spiders are awful
- Cute squirrel friend
- Oh hey, there's a scar there. His father did it but it's fine. Actually, he really wanted to see his dad and stuff.
- Following the princess is the best and no one can tell him otherwise.
- WAIT A MINUTE. Four dragons. Where does the dark dragon fit in here...
Effects:
Helps establish a history between him and his father. He learns that his father injured him but he's not traumatized by it, and helps him understand how devoted he is to following Yona. It also helps establish that he has some good friends and they are all a cute group.
Memory 2
(Chapter 70.5)
Things to Note:
- All names have been redacted, but dragon titles are intact, so people can hear "Seiryuu" and Hakuryuu", etc. Also, he'll realize he calls his Granny...Granny. Same with his father of course.
Summary:
- Kija awakes to realize that his father is going to die that day. He can feel it through their dragon bond.
- He goes to his granny to ask if he can see him because it's been three months, but he is denied.
- No one can stop Kija and so he climbs the wall to sneak into his father's bedroom.
- There he realizes how thin and sickly his father is. He's wasted away, and his hand that once used to be a dragon's claw is gone now, too.
- His father hears someone and thinks it is their granny. Knowing that he doesn't have a lot of time left, he asks if he can finally see and possibly touch Kija now, for the first time since he was an infant. When no one responds, his father apologizes and says he's only ever trouble.
- Overwhelmed, Kija throws himself at his father and cries. His father is shocked, is able to speak his name once, and then dies.
Commentary:
- Ouch that was kind of painful and sad
- Granny doesn't let him see dad
- There are some drawbacks to dragon powers.
- Okay, so that is what his village looks like.
- Oh, he's also called Lord Hakuryuu. His father appears to be the former lord.
Effects:
This makes Kija realize a little more about the dragon power. It seems that when there is a new dragon, it slowly drains the power and life out of the former. That gives him something to think about. And after his last memory, he sees that his father was truly regretful about what happened as a child. He feels overall regretful toward his father.
Memory 3
(Chapter 105.5)
Things to Note:
- All names have been redacted, but dragon titles are intact, so people can hear "Seiryuu" and Hakuryuu", etc.
Summary
- It begins with a flashback regarding Princess Yona (Hiryuu), Hak (Raijuu), and Yoon explaining that they are going into town and that apparently the dragons have to stay behind because they are too likely too draw attention.
- Jae-Ha seems to have taken charge while Yoon is out and begins right away with the intent of making sure no one does anything reckless by asking if they are ready and prepared. Kija seems perplexed by this because it shouldn't be too hard. But Jae-Ha emphasizes that Yoon isn't there and so they shouldn't act rashly. It seems Kija already had something else in mind and begins to voice it but is cut off by Jae-Ha insisting that they just have grilled fish.
- The group seems to agree that they will fish. Zeno tells Shin-Ah (Abi) to go fishing with him, and Kija asks them just how it is they intend to fish. This sets off a disastrous chain of events...
- Zeno holds up a worm declaring that it's the most suitable bait and Kija panic attacks after having a worm held up. He accidentally bumps into Shin-Ah which causes him to drop their mascot character (their pet squirrel Ao) into the river. Kija is horrified and calls her name, while Jae-Ha begins to strip down to his underclothes in order to jump in after her and begins to tell them to wait there. Before he can finish, however, Shin-Ah jumps into the water, fully clothed, after her. To this Kija jumps in after his brother to try to save him in turn and they all begin to drown in the river...
- Jae-Ha saves them all, plus the squirrel, and lectures them about how there isn't any way they could have swam in their baggy clothes. During this Zeno complains about his hunger.
- Kija apologizes to Jae-Ha for having caused him trouble. He tells Kija it's fine as long as he understands before a bear suddenly appears out of nowhere. In pure excitement Kija immediately takes after the bear, telling them to wait and declaring that they would have bear stew for the night. Before Kija can reach the bear it seems to change its mind and charge toward Zeno. Jae-Ha throws himself in the way, and after this point, everything seems to blur for a small bit.
- It backs up with Kija groggily opening his eyes, waking up next to Jae-Ha who is surrounded by his other dragon brothers. His arm is wrapped up but it seems that everyone is alright. Jae-Ha complains about his bandage work after the Squirrel tried to feed him some nuts. Zeno tells him not to worry about him and battle and that he'll be fine but Jae-Ha claims his memory is fading. After this he remarks that dinner probably didn't get made then, but Kija assures him that it has been and hands him a bowl of bear stew.
- Jae-Ha is shocked to receive bear stew from Kija and asks if he made it, but he tells him that he only helped Zeno, along with Shin-Ah. For some reason, he remarks about Zeno's age again before Zeno actually snaps a little.
- Kija comments to Jae-Ha that he needn't burden himself so much by always trying to take care of them all, and that he should leave things to them once and a while. He starts to protest before Kija pins him with a sincere look and he finally relents... before asking what is burning behind them,
- It seems the tent has caught fire while the others weren't paying attention to it and it burns up. Everyone makes it out safely, but they end up having to sincerely apologize to Yoon for what transpired while he and the others were away.
Commentary:
- It seems the child who travels with them is the most responsible of the group because his absence is what causes them to be in a big pinch.
- Apparently, they stand out too much to bring to town sometimes??
- Reinstates that bugs are bad.
- He can kill a bear!!!!!!
- Cute squirrel friend again.
- Jae-Ha keeps trying to out-brother him and needs to let Kija brother sometimes.
Effects:
This memory just gives him a better idea of his dragon family dynamics and shows how much they seem to depend on Yoon, but how Jae-Ha also tends to fret over them too much. It also teaches some valuable lessons like-- how not to swim in a river. Or the dangers of leaving a fire unattended... BUT HE CAN KILL A BEAR.
Memory 4
(Chapter 106)
Things to Note:
- All names have been redacted, but dragon titles are intact, so people can hear "Seiryuu" and Hakuryuu", etc.
- Everything should be from Leviathan's perspective.
Summary:
- It seems the Happy Hungry Bunch has merely been chilling at camp when suddenly Abi appears. Everyone seems shocked by his appearance. Surprise! It is because he's not wearing a mask apparently.
- Ryokoryuu and Ouryuu make a big deal about this occasion but clearly, Leviathan knows better. He tells them that this is because he has come to trust them but that they shouldn't fuss overly much. He shushes them... In the end, though. Leviathan can't help but remark upon what beautiful eyes his brother has. His companions remark that he has an illness that causes him to babble whatever he is thinking aloud.
- Leviathan moves to tug upon Seiryuu, but when he does... Abi jerks his arm away. "Don't touch me, servant". It absolutely shocks Levi, but after a moment of hesitation, he smiles and apologizes. Clearly, this was a result of using too much of his strength without thinking. But no... SEIRYUU INSULT HIS DRAGON POWER.
- SHOCK DESU. Levi drifts back and gathers the other dragons + mom together for a much-needed meeting. The topic? Abi's rebellious stage. Levi has of course never gone through one even though Ryokuryuu due to purity...?
- Whatever Leviathan gets from this conversation, it is that Abi is pure and clearly needs a pep talk...! AND SO. ABI. NEVER GIVE UP! ROAR AT THE SUN! BE ONE WITH THE EARTH! etc. This goes on until Abi actually punches him in the face much to Levi's shocked disbelief. Apparently the 'mother' of their group would have hit him too???
- Ryokuryuu thinks it's best to just leave things be but when they go to finish setting up their tent, Abi destroys it? AND WORSE? Mom had spent ALL NIGHT sewing that tent together? So everyone needs to apologize to mom now, way to go Abi.
- This seems to be when Leviathan notices something is incredibly off, however. That squirrel that is always around Abi... it's gone. And when he questions Abi regarding this, it seems that he doesn't know what Hakuryuu is talking about. And THAT is what finally does it, for Leviathan.
- Leviathan's demeanor darkens, suspicion clearly crossing his fingers as he finally asks...who 'Abi' really is. There is NO WAY that the real Abi would forget his squirrel friend. And he's not afraid to call him out on it. He demands to know what he's done to his brother and reaches out to grab him--
- That is when Ryokuryuu abruptly slams his hand across Leviathan's eyes and he feels himself fall back just as a frightening glare turns upon him. It's difficult to see after this because the Green dragon keeps his arm across his eyes, but he can feel Ouryuu suddenly in front of them both, and Ryokoryuu yell for 'mother' not to look in his eyes.
- It is when they hear what sounds like a gasp of pain from Ouryuu escape him, that Ryokuryuu moves from before him, and they both reach out to catch their 'youngest' brother. The power of paralysis... Ouryuu called it. And apparently, it doesn't work on him in the same way it does the others. He comments that for a while now, he had felt a strange presence, and apparently... it is inside Abi. That this 'presence' has been found out, doesn't phase him though. Instead, he attacks Ouryuu again. It's after this, though...that Shin-Ah suddenly collapses.
- Leviathan is worried for Abi, but that's when Ouryuu sits up once more. Worried sick over him, Levi demands that he stop doing things that are bad for his heart, but Ouryuu assures him he wouldn't die from this. That's when, somehow, after believing he should be paralyzed for a little while at least, he suddenly stirs again, and rises. It's as he directs his attention back upon their small group, that the memory ends.
Commentary:
- It's unusual for Abi not to wear a mask
- People didn't like his inspirational speech
- Forgetting the squirrel is impossible for Abi
- GET THE FUCK OUTTA HIS BROTHER WHAT???
- Abi's eyes can chill you to the bone if he turns a real glare on you...
Effects: Abi r u o k
EYES. Are a thing. He'll be more curious about that. Also Ouryuu's abilities are...hmm??
Memory 5
Part One - Part Two
(Chapter 95 & 96 )
Things to Note:
- All names have been redacted, but dragon titles are intact, so people can hear "Seiryuu" and Hakuryuu", etc.
- Kalgan's name is known, however.
- Everything should be from Leviathan's perspective. Any scene that he is not in should be considered absent from the memoy.
Summary:
- They have been resting. A child seems to be accompanying the band of friends but he's exhausted from apparent travel. It's because he's young and so Hakuryuu picks him up and carries him. It seems that Ryokuryuu is tired from the previous day and so this is the best arrangement. He then asks that Seiryuu carry Ryokuryuu, and he's willing to acquiesce to the request but Ryokoryuu assures them that he is fine.
- The child apologizes for the apparent trouble he has been causing the group but Hakuryuu assures him that he is easy to carry and it is fine. The child then reveals that he isn't from their country, Kouka, but that he had fun while he had been over there. His parents hadn't allowed him to at all, but that they must have been wrong because he was able to meet such good people. Hakuryuu is glad that he seems pleased with the country and happy that it will be a good memory for him, however, he goes on to explain that he should not ignore the words of his parents due to the fact that they will not be around to scold him forever, and so he should treasure the time he has with them.
- They travel for some distance more, time blurring, but as the travel continues Hakuryuu begins to slow. The path goes up and down and is full of hills so by the time they are near their destination he seems to be wearing down... so much so that he hands the child (named Kalgan, apparently) and hands him to Seiryuu. The others seem surprised by this, cracking a joke, even that he doesn't seem to have much stamina. The words don't seem to register, however. Because nearly as soon as he passes the child over, his vision fades and Hakuryuu passes out.
- He can't register much, time passing by in a slight blur. He hears the others fretting over him and remarking that he has a fever. He gets a sense of movement... and he's upon Rykuryuu's back, he thinks. Eventually, he is within someone's home, a cool cloth pressed to his head but he is in and out of sleep.
- Eventually, he gains his consciousness again though he is worn out and feeling warm and miserable. He feels ashamed and apologizes for causing the princess and everyone else so much trouble. The others suggest that the princess keep her distance so that she doesn't get sick, and Ryokuryuu assures her that Hakuryuu has the vitality of a cockroach, much to his annoyance. During all of this their squirrel companion is trying to shove acorns down his throat.
- For all their banter, it seems clear that the dragons are trying to get rid of the princess and Raijuu so that they can talk privately. And it is only once the four dragons are all that are left in the room that an inquiry rises. Ryokuryuu asks how is dragon arm is... and if he can put his strength into it. Hakuryuu admits that he cannot make it go as normal, and Ryokuryuu asks a question then that makes all the dragons freeze momentarily. He asks... if a new Hakuryuu has been born. The others look worried for a moment, before Hakuryuu denies that any such thing has happened. He would be able to feel it, apparently. It is not that kind of illness. He seems relieved that this is the fact.
- Hakuryuu is surprised that the green dragon had decided to bring up such a sensitive subject. It seems that... the dragons have incredibly short lives. This is something he already learned in another memory but is reinforced, here. Ryokuryuu says that it is not so strange to think about, due to the fact that his own predecessor had died at the age of 27 and that soon he will be that age. A new dragon will be born sooner or later, and when that happens... those powers will wither up and they will die. Such a thing is not so strange for the dragons it appears.
- Rather than be concerned, Hakuryuu seems...relieved. He finds it rare that the other would bring up such important matters, and somehow that makes him feel better. Ryokuruu says that's why he's annoying because he likes to bring up these kinds of topics.
- Hakuryuu explains that it is true that the four dragons do not live long. However, he explains, he is always ready to give up his life for 'that person'-- the princess. How long he lives is not important. Ryokuryuu sighs... but admits that this is definitely something that he would say.
- Suddenly, the somber conversation is broken up by the clatter of a basin of water falling to the ground. They look up to find the mother-like boy of their group. He's shaken and asks them if it is true... that they have a short lifespan. They are quiet for a moment before asking for him to come over. He is reassured that it is not something that he should have to pity and that no one can know when they will die.
- Because the boy still seems upset, Hakuryuu goes on to reassure him that even if another dragon is born he will not die immediately after. Ryokuryuu chimes in to tell him that his own predecessor had lived for twelve years after his own death, though this seems unheard of to Hakuryuu. In a demonstration to prove that his powers are not fading, he punches Ryokuryuu to show him that his strength is still there even if his claw doesn't want to expand properly! He'd told that he's really not the type to die even when someone kills him and he confidently exclaims that of course that is the case.
- Their mother-like friend begins to cry. He tells them that it is fine but begs that the stubborn monsters live. They smile gently and simply ask that he not tell the others about it.
Commentary:
- Reinforced that the dragons don't live long
- How did Ryokuryuu's predecessor live so long after his birth???
- Getting sick sucks
- Getting sick when away from Kouka sucks
- Dragon powers are strongest when near the castle
- Seems they were traveling outside Kouka for some reason.
Effects: It's fine. Everyone dies some time. May wonder what their presence means in hell, will this prompt another dragon to be born back home...?
Memory 6
( Chapter 132 & 133 )
Things to Note:
- All names have been redacted, but dragon titles are intact, so people can hear "Seiryuu" and Hakuryuu", etc.
- Everything should be from Leviathan's perspective. Any scene that he is not in should be considered absent from the memory.
- The memory ends abruptly after he loses consciousness.
Summary:
- Leviathan and friends leave a tent to go shopping for ingredients and head into town. There, people are lively and the street food looks inviting and delicious. There seems to be increased security all around, however.
- Seiryuu warns Hakuryuu that someone has been watching them. When he turns to in the direction he's warned not to make eye contact but it's too late. That person rushes over there quickly, coming nearly nose to nose with Hakuryuu. Suddenly he's asked a very serious question...! How does he maintain his skin? He's also asked shortly after how he maintains his hair, and much to the stranger's frustration, Leviathan tells him he does nothing and simply washes with water.
- It seems the conversation is going alright until the stranger comments that he'd like to see their abilities. At this point, they look for a way to exit the conversation and leave but are suddenly interrupted when another stranger comes flying out of nowhere and nearly removes Ouryuu's head. Seiryuu manages to save him, but the new stranger blows their cover, revealing that they are the 'Monsters of Kouka Kingdom'.
- The townspeople murmur about the individuals present-- apparently called 'The Five Stars' and everyone becomes restless, backing away from the 'monsters'. The violent stranger proclaims once more that Ouryuu is immortal and moves to attack him once more, but Hakuryuu has had enough. His claw expands, blocking him entirely, and with a swat sends the man flying to the ground. Everyone begins to scream that it's the 'White Monster Of Kouka', and that they had been spotted staying with princess ******.
- Once grasping the situation the man who originally asked about skincare goes on the offense and immediately attacks Ryokuryuu. Ryokuryuu dodges while the others go on guard. The stranger proclaims that they must have come to the country to destroy them under the orders of King *******. Realizing the situation, Ryokuryuu tells them all that they mustn't fight back because any move they make will be seen as an act of war.
- The stranger continues to attack Ryokuryuu, who tries to explain that they aren't there to harm anyone, but he isn't believed. At the same time nearby, the other man attempts to attack Ouryuu again. Seeing this, Ryokuryuu's attention is distracted for just a moment. Hakuryuu tries to warn him to look out, but there's no time for any other action. He throws himself in the way to absorb the blow. It strikes hard across the head, shoulder, and chest, and almost at once, everything goes black.
Commentary:
- Apparently, they are in another country
- Kouka seems to be on the brink of war
- People outside of Kouka Kingdom are aware of the dragons
- One of these people knew about Ouryuu's power
- That al kind of sucked
Effects: Mostly just lets him know that there are some major political tensions. And it looks like the dragons are in a difficult position due to that.
Memory 7
(Chapter 18)
Things to Note:
- All names have been redacted, but dragon titles are intact, so people can hear "Seiryuu" and Hakuryuu", etc.
- Everything should be from Leviathan's perspective.
Summary:
- It begins with Hakuryuu and Raijuu fighting amongst themselves. He keeps getting called White Snake which greatly annoys him. He promises to cut his throat out if he gets called it one more time but Hiryuu punches them both in the face and tells them to knock it off. She tells Raijuu to stop picking on him because Hakuryuu isn't used to being away from home, and explains that Hak is just a bully.
- The youngest in the group introduces himself as **** and he wants confirmation that Hakuryuu can sense the presence of the other four dragons. He confirms this and says the nearest one is Seiryuu. But when asked which direction he's in, Hakuryuu points vaguely in one direction. The boy expresses that he doesn't feel comfortable following someone who has never left their village before to which Hakuryuu is very offended! He tells everyone that he knows plenty however and to follow him...!
- Unfortunately, as Hakuryuu sets out for the others to follow him, he immediately falls off a steep ledge and into a pit of bugs. He panics and cries until he manages to pull himself up and gets insulted further for his fear of insects. They start threatening to fight one another until footsteps alert them to the presence of others.
- Surprise, it is bandits. Everyone freaks out a little thinking it might be the fire tribe for fortunately it's not. The princess and the boy are told to hide so that Hakuryuu and Raijuu can deal with the bandits... who, upon seeing them all, decide that they might fetch a good price if sold, including Hakuryuu himself.
- Unsure about the princess's current situation, he asks if it's alright to cut up the people threatening them. Hak suggests he just run away and hide but Hakuryuu scoffs at this. A man ends up touching his arm and reeling backward because it burned him, and Hakuryuu explains that no one should touch his arm lightly because it has been waiting to serve his master for all this time.
- The men fight the bandits and are very impressive while doing so, but argue the entire time. At one point, Raijuu calls him White Snake once more and Hakuryuu makes a swipe toward him. They continue to fight and bicker however until they notice that a man has grabbed the princess. Both cut him down almost immediately and ask if she is alright.
- Once it's clear that Hiryuu is safe, the boys argue over who defeated more men before Hakuryuu wobbles and seems to fall to his knees. He's used too much power for his first time in an actual battle and so feels a little dizzy. He apologizes for fighting in an unrefined manner but it seems to have excited Raijuu, who wants another go with him.
- Unfortunately for Raijuu, he's still injured apparently from a previous battle and collapses. Hakuryuu is amazed that he was able to move so quickly despite being so terribly injured. He has to admit that the Thunder Beast seems to almost be able to keep up with one of the dragons. He picks up Raijuu and carries him for Hiryuu and they talk for just a short bit. He's impressed that the princess wasn't scared during the whole ordeal. She shares that nothing scares her as much as what happened 'that night'. He can't tell if it's the blood in his veins, or what, but he feels a strong urge to truly support her and help her stand tall.
Commentary:
- So this is shortly after meeting everyone.
- He's deligated to the back of the line :(
- The fire tribe is an enemy to the princess
- He for sure has never left his village
- He can sense the other dragons
- If he fights without control it's kind of tiring
- BEING CALLED WHITE SNAKE IS REALLY RUDE
- Also, Raijuu really was a bully
Effects: This tells him a little more about his powers and abilities and about how his relationship back home may have been with Raijuu.
Memory 8
(Chapter 126 & 127)
Things to Note:
- Names with the exception of his own (Kija), Yona, and Hak are redacted.
- Dragon names and titles stay intact
- Country names remain intact too
- Everything should be from Kija (Leviathan's) perspective.
Summary:
- Some individuals from Xing show up wanting to meet the dragons. Kija and friends initially refuse but ultimately go to Xing.
- They come upon a street play regarding the four dragons! They are referred to as the monsters of Kouka. Also the individual playing Kija is a cat.... RUDE!!! They meet some strange characters but they're decent people who save kittens and don't put up with unpleasant individuals so they're fine.
- They meet the second princess of Xing! She seems alright and pleasant enough. It seems that her older sister wants to wage war with Kouka and this other princess wants to become a vassal nation of the country. Hmm.
Commentary:
- This country really likes cats
- This first princess sounds terrible!!!
- DRAGONS ARE NOT CATS OR MONSTERS!!
- It seems the relations between Xing and Kouka are bad
- Foreigners would not be welcome in Xing
- There was a war with Sei prior to all of this but they were defeated...?
- The princess was injured somehow prior to this memory and has trouble walking
Effects: It gives him more political knowledge and background surrounded Kouka and other nations.
Memory 9
(Chapter 105)
Things to note:
- Any names mentioned are redacted except for 'Kija' if mentioned
- Dragon names and titles remain intact (Hakuryuu/White Dragon, etc)
- Everything is from Kija (Leviathan's) point of view.
Summary
- A four-year-old Kija sneaks out from his village to go bathe in the lake. While there, he notices a bright red star in the sky that he is drawn to and climbs a tree. There, he meets a stranger who feels somehow...familiar?
- After talking to the stranger he feels convinced somehow that he must be a dragon but the stranger never fully admits to it. He helps Kija get dressed after sneezing and comments on his back scars. He explains that he doesn't care if his scars fade, but he doesn't like people looking at them with pity.
- In the end, the villagers come looking for Kija and the stranger runs off. He tells the village not to pursue that person and lets him go.
Commentary:
- Ouryuu that little brat, he met him long before he actually met him!??
- They all knew when Hiryuu was born
- Doesn't like people looking at him with pity due to the scar his father gave him
Effects: He's more curious regarding Ouryuu, ultimately.
Memory 10
(Chapter 117)
Things to Note
- All names are redacted except for Kija's own if it's mentioned and 'Tetora'. Titles remain!
- PLEASE IGNORE THE OFFICIAL TRANSLATION OF NAMES ANYWAY THEY ARE HORRIBLE. Sinha = Shin-ah
Summary
- A battle has clearly been waging at a fort! Shin-Ah (Abi here in Imeeji) is currently grouped with Kija.
- They are seeking information from Tetora when they... LE GASP. Come across the King. Who is also the one responsible for murdering Yona (Hiryuu's) father and taking the throne for himself and running Hak and Yona fromt he castle.
- Immediately Kija goes into MUST DESTROY MODE because this person is responsible for so much tragedy to the people he loves the most...!
- Everyone calls him a monster due to his claw and weapons are training on him until the King tells everyone to lower their weapons. Then he just... HOLDS HIS HAND.
- He's flustered and not sure how to react to the king verifying that he's in fact Hakuryuu. The King asks who it is they serve and Kija explains that it is not him, and thus he is not the rightful ruler. But that the person he serves is someone he knows well.
- The king finally turns to leave and Kija calls out to him to once again make it clear that he is not that person or the rightful person of the throne. But the king tells him he doesn't necessarily desire the throne. All he wants is to make a strong country incapable of being invaded. He then also explains that he won't deny the dragons but that he doesn't desire their power. On the contrary, he doesn't desire the power of the gods. He only desires the power of the people and leaves.
- Kija feels complicated and vexed after this. He asks for Shin-Ah's impression of him, and Shin-aH tells him he didn't get a bad feeling, which is how Kija felt as well. It's frustrating, but he somehow reminded him of the princess... and he's difficult to look away from.
Commentary:
- Vexed!! Why does the presence of the king remind him of the princess so much?
- More people calling him a monster, these people have no class hmph
- Unsure what to think of the king. Everything he has seen so far has shown him making a good king, but he still did something so awful.
- Unsure how to feel about the king proclaiming that the presence of the dragons is unneeded and that he doesn't desire god's help...
Effects: Mostly wants to learn more about the King. Feels complicated regarding it all.

(Chapter 107 & 108 scans)
Things to Note:
- All names except for Yona and Kija are redacted. Dragon names remain the same, however. Like Seiryuu, Ouryuu, Hakuryuu, etc.
- This memory is a follow-up memory to a previous one.
- Only scenes that Kija is specifically in are part of the memory.
Summary:
- Kija and Ryokuryuu are looking for their brother, who is currently possessed and has disappeared. They're exploring an underground passage but are having trouble using their powers to break through the wall to get to him, despite feeling him on the other side.
- Ryokuryuu is clearly not doing well. He's being affected by...evil spirits which he can sense.... see..maybe???? Kija is COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to the evil spirits in the area however and is unaffected. He is concerned over Jae-Ha, but in the end is more scared by the bug they come across than evil spirits or skulls. They find a mask that reminds them of Seiryuu's mask, however!
- The oppressive spirits become too much and Ryokuryuu collapses. Kija frets over him when suddenly Ouryuu bursts through the wall. Kija wastes no time approaching his possessed brother, however. He demands that the spirit leave his brother alone, and if he has to possess someone then possess him. It seems that the spirit is unable to possess Kija however, due to the divine protection he has from the previous Hakuryuu spirits.
- Dragon Jesus (Yona/Hiryuu) swoops in, however, and has a profound effect on the spirit. Immediately the spirit begins to cry, is afraid, and unable to move against her. It turns out that he was mistreated in life and then locked in the underground to die alone. After calming down, he releases Seiryuu (Abi) and finally disappears, along with the other spirits in the place, to finally rest in peace.
- They stumble around in the dark trying to find their way back out to the surface until they hear a voice. It's the boy who they all refer to as mother. He's upset that they had all disappeared and made riceballs. Alls well that ends well.
Commentary:
- I guess back home I can't be possessed because I am divinely protected!!
- Can't sense or see spiritual entities tho..?
- The other dragons have all had it rough... =(
- 'Mother' is the most responsible in their group and he loves this boy for all he does
Effects: Mostly feels a little hngggg still over how difficult the other dragons have all had it.
Memory 12
(Chapter 146 Scans)
Things to note:
- All names are redacted except for Kija, Yona, Hak. Dragon names stay intact however. 'Seiryuu, Ryokoryuu, etc'
Summary:
- It is a short memory. All of the dragons, as well as Hak, are severely injured. They can barely walk as they stumble down the street trying to support one another. Kija himself feeling like his body is heavy and he's swaying as he moves. But it's okay... the entire group is together again. And now they can get away. He only vaguely hears the conversation between the princess and Hak. They need to speak... and Ouryuu says something about a bad feeling in the air.
- The bad feeling is quickly revealed. They make it to an encampment, but the feeling is anything but friendly. All of them look up in confusion and alarm... just in time for a rope to suddenly wind around his neck. Air cuts off and he's dragged to the ground off his feet, claw and hand holding the rope to prevent it from digging further into his neck. Desperately, he tries to summon his power but he can't-- he's already used up all of his energy and it's spent. He can hear it, too, as his companions are dragged to the ground alongside him. He struggles more, not just for his sake, but for theirs, too.
- The people who have caught them celebrate for having caught the 'monsters' of Kouka kingdom. There's a conversation that takes place between a woman and what appears to be a priest. They argue over the capture of them. It appears the woman had originally caught them first, but she's advocating for their release now, but the group won't hear of it.
- In retaliation against the woman they lift their arrows to strike her down. And that is when Yona (Hiryuu) inserts herself in the way to try and talk the crowd down. But it's too late. Their arrows let loose and absolute horror, anger, and the need to do something about it courses through Kija's veins. He can physically feel his spirit and power rip from his body to all at once use itself to shield the princess from the barrage of arrows. His spirit tears them apart, along with the spirits of the other dragons beside him, before shrinking back and returning to his body. It's the very last thing he remembers, before darkness descends.
Commentary:
- The dragons are becoming too well known and popular...
- Apparently, they can tear their spirits from their body to fight with! Cool!
- . . . The princess is in danger :(
- Everyone appears to be injured... so what battle did they have prior?
Effects: Curious as to this new power he's witnessing for his first time.
Memory 13
(Chapter 16 & 17 scans)
Things to note:
- All names in this EXCEPT for 'Yoon' are intact. So people can hear Yona, Kija, Hak, etc, etc.
- Kija's thoughts and the voice of the dragon in his head will be heard/subtitled for the viewer.
- Only scenes with Kija in them should be reflected in this memory.
Summary:
- Kija wakes up to his right claw throbbing, greeted by his grandmother in the morning. He informs her of the pain in his hand and she panics, calling others but he assures her that he is alright.
-He confesses that he feels frustrated and without a purpose. Why was he born if he cannot use his power for his master? His granny informs him that his power may not even be needed in this era but that someday it will be needed again and he will pass it onto the next Hakuryuu. She further tells him that he doesn't have to do anything except stay in the village. He doesn't like the feeling of existing only to pass on the bloodline.
- Granny wants him settled and married already with a few wives and presses him a little about finding a match already. (The translation should have mentioned him getting a wife or two but it wasn't mentioned here. He basically said that just 1 would be fine and his granny yelled at him that he didn't even have that). He internally panics and prays for his master to show up already. During this he remarks that the village seems noisy. His granny informs him that there were some intruders, to which he is shocked that they allowed intruders into the village at all. His Granny doesn't seem worried however and tells him that they seem unusual and have a cute girl. But female assassins are dangerous too...!!!! So he storms down to go deal with the intruders, determined to teach them a lesson. That is, until--
- It turns out the intruder is Yona (Hiryuu), Hak, and the 'mother' boy from his previous memories. He's gonna go show them for causing chaos in his village...!! Until the girl turns around and oops it's his long-awaited master. His claw acts up and the ancient pact that his ancestors made suddenly rushes to life in his veins, causing his blood to run backward. Actually, it's kind of painful and he passes out for a moment? Whoa.
- While passed out, he recalls a memory had... one of the few that involve him talking to his father, which is very rare. His father tells him that the four dragons were born to protect Hiryuu. And that if he appears in his era, he will know him upon seeing him, because his blood will call out and he'll see a dazzling light.
- The village panics because he passed out and they immediately prop him up and begin to check on him. When he awakes, he realizes that this is the master he has long sought and he's absolutely elated. He bows low and tells her that he is the white dragon who has waited for her, and the rest of the village immediately bows too. Everyone is excited and he asks for her name. They exchange compliments but she ultimately falsely tells him that she is not his master. But that she still wants his help. In his heart, he is confident that she is, however, and thus tells her that whatever her objectives are, he is her dragon.
- They separate for a bit within the village to rest, gather supplies, and such. His blood feels hot due to the encounter with Yona and while trying to recoop, Hak appears inside his castle unannounced!!! The nerve! He immediately starts looking through Kija's belongings for provisions before Kija shoves an entire purse of gold at him and tells him to leave because he's no longer needed......... it doesn't sit welll!
- Kija and Hak return to the princess with dark auras. He tries to say that anyone who isn't a dragon should just leave, but the princess immediately nixes that. Because he's her childhood friend and if he can't come then she doesn't want any of this! He's dismayed for a moment but she tells him she needs him too because Hak is going to die protecting her. So this fixes everything! The man is clearly weak and she needs him to help.
- . . . He gets real offended when Hak refers to him as a White Snake.
- Anyway, his village goes to see him off. He's strict on himself and says heavens wrath will be upon him if he lets them spoil him. The girls fawn over him and the warriors in the village assure him that they will protect the village while he is gone. He tells them not to worry because if he dies a new Hakuryuu will be born :'|
- His granny tries to send him off with a million different items. They talk briefly (we found out she's 100 years old) and he tells her to please take things easy. She cries because she realizes she won't be able to wake him up like she always does and everything feels so sudden. He tells her to raise her head and the show one another how much they love each other and she promises that no matter what, she will be the first person to greet him when he returns. And he promises that he will return some day without fail.
- The group sets up with their emotions a little sensitive, but he helpfully tells the others that he can sense the other dragons. That they are like siblings and so he can find them for her. After a little bickering with Hak, she finally asks for his name, outside of 'Hakuryuu'. We realize that no one has ever called him by his name before prior to this, except for his deceased parents, but tells her that his name is 'Kija'.
Commentary:
- ALMOST ATTACKED HIS MASTER AHHHH
- First meetings...
- Hak is frustrating forever
- Misses his granny :(
- Keeps avoiding marriage...
- Also knows the dragon oath now
- Ouch his claw hurt during all that
Effects: Knows more about his village, the layout, his granny, as well as the exact oath that triggered inside him. A little embarrassed by some of his past actions though.
Memory 14
(Chapter 19 Scans)
Things to Note:
- All names here are intact except for Yoon (the youngest boy)
- Everything is from Kija's point of view
- Thoughts are all heard for the sake of the viewing audience!
Summary:
- It starts out with everyone obviously camping outside and eating something... strange? Strange to Kija, anyway. He questions exactly what they are eating and claims that they are weeds that the youngest boy found on the side of the road. There is much offense to this! And he tells Kija he should be grateful he didn't put bugs in the dish which utterly dismays him. He asks in worry if the princess is actually alright (having to eat foods like these) and she admits she can't eat bugs but that also she hasn't had the option to be picky... She does say that the food has gotten better since the youngest member joined their party though!
- There's some banter between Hak and the princess and when it looks like she's going to feed him Kija immediately interrupt the process and tells her to leave tasks like that to him :'|
- The youngest, otherwise sometimes referred to as 'Mother' asks Kija which direction he feels the Blue Dragon in, and so he indicates the general direction. He cuts him off fairly quickly though and asks further if he has a village just like the White Dragon, which Kija doesn't know. Looking at a map, they all try to pinpoint where the Blue dragon's village could be and narrow it down to maybe 6 locations... and then promptly say goodnight, much to Kija's shock. They are sleeping... outside??
- . . . . Someone isn't used to sleeping outside because he slept like crap and looks sleep-deprived. Even Yona is shocked by his appearance and Hak teases him by telling him there's a bug on his back. It seems clear that this is his first real time...roughing it. Either way, they are lectured and told to be careful by 'Mother' and not to stand out or make a scene since they are nearing villages, which... seems impossible given who they are and their appearances.
- It turns out this is not a village with the Blue dragon, however. He's able to tell them the general direction again, but Hak says they can't go various paths due to the military and terrain. Kija himself seems quietly troubled... they hit village after village after village and each one is not right. Kija himself seems more and more troubled each time they reach a new one and it turns out not to be the right one either. Hak asks if his noise is clogged to which he's offended. He is obviously not sniffing them out! He notices that the princess's feet are hurting and she is looking worn down, though. 'Mother' is able to offer her aid he suggests they rest.
- Again they spend another night outside and Kija himself is struggling. He's cold and shivering, keeps panicking because he keeps finding bugs, and can't seem to sleep. But he's also... upset. So far everyone is helpful to the princess. Whether it is knowledge of the outside world, knowing medicine and how to cook, and so on. But so far, he has failed to be useful. It hurts... and all he can do is pray and continue to try and call out to his 'brother'. Because he must feel that they are searching for him, right...?
- At some point he falls asleep but wakes up to some noises. And he realizes... that the princess is shooting a bow and practicing in the middle of the night. He moves to approach her but is silenced by Hak who tells him not to interfere. He finds out she is practicing like this every night and shoots two hundred on average. He doesn't really get why she's having to go so far because she has him... (Hak agrees because she has HAK himself) but he's told she absolutely doesn't want to be powerless. Her father was killed and she barely escaped the palace and it's all she can do just to survive. He asks why Hak doesn't stop her from trying to learn how to fight, but he says while he doesn't want her to have to, seeing her struggle like a human being is good too.
- Kija finally moves to settle down for the night after battling with bugs again. He's upset because of his feelings of uselessness... but what he desires the most is to be useful to her. And he makes the realization that both the princess and himself... are incredibly similar in this regard. They both detest being powerless and want to be useful to the people they care about.
- In the morning he is absolutely determined that today will be the day that they find Seiryuu! The princess ends up grabbing his hand to check on him. She asks if he's okay, and mentions that things have probably been hard on him since he isn't used to this kind of lifestyle. She tells him he needs to rest up and take care of himself because they can't continue the journey without him. He asks if he is useful to her, and without a moment of hesitation she tells him that of course he is, and that there is no one who could replace him. At once his heart goes doki doki and he feels energized and elated again. In fact, he thinks that something is wrong with his heart...
- 'Mother' seems to find a location that he thinks the dragon could be in, and after following the trail to it, Kija is able to at last tell them that the Blue Dragon is nearby.
Commentary:
- Just wanna be useful :(
- The princess is badass
- Him and the princess are similar
- This is before they found any of the other dragons, meaning he was the first!
Effects: Will feel the need to keep learning more while in this place, because it will help him to be more useful going forward still.
Memory 15
(Chapter 29 Scans)
Things to note:
- Only scenes with Kija specifically in them are contained within this memory!
- All names except for dragon titles, Kija, Yona, and Hak are redacted.
- Internal thoughts will be voiced/heard or subbed for the sake of the audience!
Summary:
- Kija and his companions seem to be trying to find the Green Dragon. They have left [ _______ ] to hold the fort while they search. The others ask if Kija can feel the Green dragon, and he tells them he thinks he's in the city, but he keeps moving around constantly and is fast, so he's having trouble. Almost at once, however, there is an incident--
- A shattering of windows and other objects is heard, along with someone begging for another to stop. Hak says that there are officers trashing a store. Yona tries to move to intercept, but Kija stops her claiming he will, but he is stopped by Hak, and Hak is stopped by [_________]. Kija protests, but [ _________ ] Explains that their situation cannot allow them to interfere right now. None of the group is happy by this turn of events and only reluctantly leave things alone-- the officers will leave soon enough
or so they thought.- Hak abruptly says he has something he needs to attend to quickly and dashes off-- about the same time they find a wanted poster of Hak.
- Kija and the others go charging toward Hak shortly after, and he lectures them that they shouldn't follow him. But Kija claims that they felt the Green Dragon's presence. He immediately dashes off, letting them know he will look in another area. Much to his luck after rounding a couple of corners... he comes upon a man... sitting in a pot.
- HE'S FOUND THE GREEN DRAGON!!! Actually, the man sitting in the pot says something about escaping the Village of the Green Dragon and that he had always been careful to conceal his presence and avoid the other dragons at all costs. He was glad because he finally found a peaceful place to escape to and planned to continue running all his life. BUT THEN HIS BUTT GOT STUCK IN A VASE. So whatever, guess he's meeting the White Dragon now. He tells Kija that although he had never wanted to meet the White Dragon before, it's good to meet him, and he never would have expected the one who possesses such an ugly claw to be such an attractive young man.
- Kija just kind of stares for a moment... before smiling brightly and picking up the Green Dragon, vase and all, and takes off down the street to find his companions again, proclaiming that he's found the Green Dragon. They have a somewhat silly exchange and the Green Dragon is exasperated that they are having this conversation while making a scene with his butt stuck in the pot.
- Kija is elated and tells him that they have been searching for him for a while, that they are dragon brothers, and that their master is waiting for him, and they can finally protect that person together. The green dragon seems less than impressed though. He questions him briefly, before kicking himself out of the pot. He flat out tells Kija that he likes his life as is and has absolutely no intention of going with him or meeting this master.
- In reaction to the green dragon's words, Kija is utterly shocked. He questions him because he is a dragon, and they are meant to live and die to protect their master. And that after thousands of years their master has finally appeared... that they are not just going to die as individuals who have inherited the bloodline, but that they are able to fulfill the desire that all the previous dragons before them had but were never able to do themselves.
- The conversation grows worse, however. The green dragon says that he can't believe someone no better than a puppet came to search for him. And then asks if among the desires of the previous dragons, if he even has any thoughts of his own. He then tells him that if fate is demanding that they have to protect someone, then that isn't something special, it's a tragedy. He ultimately calls Kija pitiful-- before the Green dragon hops up onto a rooftop and disappears, running away.
Commentary:
- THE GREEN DRAGON IS RUDE???????
- Or at least he used to be and was resistant to helping. How could someone ever NOT want to be a dragon though?
- He doesn't know the fate of the people in the building but it really bothered him to not interfere.
- Hak's wanted poster is hilarious.
- Not a puppet :(
Effects: Wondering what the other dragon villages were like. Also dissatisfied about being told he's no better than a puppet.
Memory 16
SUPER BASIC PREMISE.
There are some soldiers gonna attack an innocent village. The dragons are all sick but they can't leave the hard work all up to Hak so they show up to do battle too...! They're in bad shape though and unsteady on their feet. In fact they're not in a very good position at all. Until the yellow dragon shows up! He shows up to defend them and then gets run through with many weapons and loses his head.
It's not fun to watch and probably less fun to experience...!! But he... regenerates? Anyway... prepare for gore.

Memory 17
(Chapter 179-180 Scans)
Things to note:
- All names except for dragon titles, Kija, Yona, and Hak are redacted.
Summary:
- The dragons arrive at Hiryuu Palace for the first time. It seems to have a calming effect on their hearts.
- Almost immediately there is a near confrontation when they are told that the party will be split up, with Hak not being allowed to enter and the princess leaving elsewhere. [ REDACTED ] ends up calming tensions however and offering to stay with Hak.
- Kija is frustrated and wants to give the princess his energy, but they are told they will meet the king and so they approach the throne room. There, the dragons feel somewhat affected by the king.
- It seems the king was not enthusiastic about the dragons being brought to the palace, but the advisor seems to feel that since they are sought after, it is better to keep them close. And in fact, he suggests an unveiling of the dragond, by having them compete in a festival that would show off their powers.
- The dragons say that [ REDACTED ] can't fight, but the advisor doesn't believe this, saying that others saw [ REDACTED ]'s powers personally. It's clear the dragons are trying to protect him. But the king becomes surprised and interested in the Yellow Dragon's powers of immortality.
- Kija is offended and tells the king if he's just going to try and make a spectacle of the Yellow Dragon, then they will not compete for him at all. The King informs him it's just meant to be a fixed battle to give the people a bit of a show, and that the dragon's wouldn't be able to win in a fight against his generals anyway. Which... immediately has Kija protest and proclaiming that he will decimate all of his generals-- falling right into the King's trap. Who then informs him that since he's so willing to go, then it looks like the tournament is on. He tries to protest that he will fight alone, but he's informed that they all must.
- After asking about the princess and finding they can't see her yet, Kija apologizes to the yellow dragon for accidentally dragging him into things. The Yellow Dragon seems more frustrated with Kija fretting over him than anything, though. He tells him to stop mother henning because he literally can't die, so fighting is safer for him than all of them together. The outburst... ultimately ends up amusing all of the dragons, since it appears he's been grumpy of late and it's a side of him they haven't seen much of.
- In the end, Kija apologizes again, because the interest in the yellow dragon's powers reminded him of someone else who had become obsessed with him. They end up agreeing that they need to be careful in order to not lose focus while in the palace.
Commentary:
- Why is it everyone has to become obsessed with the dragon powers
- HE ABSOLUTELY CAN DECIMATE THE GENERALS RUDE
- Wow don't like being separated from frens
- The King is clever
- Hiryuu Palace feels like a place of peace for the dragons
